Pricing & FAQ
The Questions Districts Ask Before They Call
How pricing works, how districts pay, how long an engagement takes, and what happens after the workshop — answered plainly, up front.
How is consulting with Dr. Moriarty priced?
Every engagement is priced at flat rates per day or session, set out in a written proposal, and every fee is confirmed with you before you commit to anything.
Keynotes, leadership briefings, and half-day and full-day workshops are each billed at a flat rate for the session. A planning day with your directors and building leaders is billed for the hours your team actually uses, so if the preparation takes less time than budgeted, the fee is adjusted down.
Before any commitment, you receive a written proposal that lists every session, its date, and its fee. Every engagement includes personalized planning, customized materials, and ongoing implementation support.
Districts usually pay by purchase order, including through BOCES funding, on net 30 terms.
Everything else you asked
Each answer starts with the short version. Open a question for the detail.
Can our district pay with a purchase order or BOCES funds?
Yes, districts usually pay by purchase order, and engagements can be funded through BOCES, such as Nassau BOCES Building Local Capacity funds.
Each invoice lists your PO number and is sent to your business office after the session it covers. Payment terms are net 30 unless your contract says otherwise, and Dr. Moriarty is glad to provide whatever detail your business office or BOCES paperwork needs.
Can we try one workshop at one school before committing the whole district?
Yes, the Single-School Pilot Workshop is an introductory session in one building, so you can see the frameworks work before committing district resources.
It is built for exactly that decision: your leaders see the effect on teacher morale and student engagement in your own classrooms first. Keynotes, 1-hour leadership briefings, and half-day or full-day workshops are also available on their own.
About the pilot workshopHow long does an MTSS consulting engagement take?
Most districts work with Dr. Moriarty across a semester or a full school year, in a series of on-site and virtual sessions.
A typical arc runs about six sessions in three stages: diagnose your current tiers and data routines, build a stronger Tier 1 and clear decision rules, then coach in real classrooms and data meetings while your internal team takes ownership.
Three-day and five-day engagements and multi-year partnerships are also available, and every plan is sized to your goals and calendar.
MTSS consultingOur MTSS looks good on paper, but too many students are landing in Tier 2. What would you do?
Start with Tier 1, because when too many students need intervention, the fix is usually stronger core instruction rather than a longer intervention menu.
Dr. Moriarty begins with an honest audit of your tiers, data sources, and intervention menus. Then she helps your team tighten core instruction, set decision rules your teams can run without her in the room, and turn data meetings into instructional decisions.
Coaching happens side by side in classrooms, so new practices are modeled and tried, not just presented. The goal is fewer students needing Tier 2 and Tier 3 because Tier 1 got stronger.
MTSS consultingDo you sell a program, or do you work with our existing curriculum?
No program to buy: Dr. Moriarty works with the curriculum, assessments, and people you already have.
Every engagement is tailored to your district's goals, with no canned curriculum or one-size package. The work is helping your team get more out of the tools already in place.
What grade levels do you work with?
Dr. Moriarty works across PreK through grade 12.
MTSS, literacy framework design, and Portrait of a Graduate work span every grade band. Adolescent literacy professional development focuses on grades 6 to 12, where the reading and writing demands of each subject rise sharply.
Adolescent literacy PDDo you work on-site or virtually, and do you work outside New York?
Both: engagements mix on-site and virtual sessions, and Dr. Moriarty works with school districts across the United States as well as the New York metro area.
Professional learning and coaching can be delivered in person or virtually, and follow-up coaching and Q&A sessions are virtual. The Executive Coffee Briefing for district leaders is a private, camera-optional, 60-minute virtual session.
The Executive Coffee BriefingWhat happens after the PD day? Is there follow-up support?
Yes, school teams keep ongoing access to Dr. Moriarty for implementation gut-checks, follow-up Q&A sessions, and virtual coaching.
The aim is a shift that lasts the whole school year, not just the day of the workshop. Longer engagements build in job-embedded coaching and a plan for your own team to carry the work forward.
